Kaizer Chiefs have had another season to forget. The problems have included a list of failed player signings and technical staff calls. The upcoming transfer window will offer a new chance to correct mistakes.

FOUR PLAYERS LINKED WITH KAIZER CHIEFS

Anyone who has been following this website and Amakhosi news has picked up a couple of players Chiefs are targeting. The list includes one fullback from Stellenbosch FC and three forwards from Polokwane City, Sekhukhune United and Cape Town Spurs.

  1. Fawaaz Basadien, 27, left-back – Stellenbosch FC
  2. Oswin Appollis, 22, forward – Polokwane City
  3. Elias Mokwana, 24, forward – Sekhukhune United
  4. Ashley Cupido, 22, forward – Cape Town Spurs.

REPORTS

The Basadien reports emerged last season after Chiefs parted ways with Sibiso Mabiliso and while Sifiso Hlanti nears the end of his contract in June.

Appollis has basically been one of the breakout stars of the season. He is the subject of interest from Orlando Pirates as well as Chiefs.

Mokwana, similarly to Appollis, has caught the eyes of all three Gauteng superclubs. The newly capped Bafana Bafana star is currently on four goals and four assists.

Spurs’ Cupido made his name last season in the Motsepe Foundation Championship (MFC) as the top goalscorer. The U23 international had a slow start to the DStv Premiership but has managed six goals and one assist in 19 games.
