Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly planning to offer veteran goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune a new coaching role at the club.
Khune’s time as a player appears to be up at the club, however, the club are keen on keeping their legend around at Naturena.
According to the latest reports, management are preparing a new offer for Khune, which will see him join their development academy as a coach.

Further reports suggest the 36-year-old has yet to decide whether he’ll be retiring or not!
The legendary Bafana Bafana goalkeeper has been a rare one-club player for Kaizer Chiefs! Since being promoted to the Amakhosi first team in 2004, Khune has won 12 trophies.
He also walked away with the coveted PSL Footballer of the Season award in 2012/13.
Kaizer Chiefs to offer Khune new coaching role?
“Khune is expected to be offered a position within the development structures at Chiefs as part of honouring him for his service to the club,” a Citizen report read.
“The other thing is that Khune would have liked to continue playing for at least one more season but he respects the club’s decision. I Expect an announcement to be made when the season ends as to what will happen to skipper.” a source told the same publication.

“There are some players who the team have listed as their targets and Percy Tau is one of them. But you know, the challenge will be if he wants to come to South Africa and Kaizer Chiefs for that matter,” an insider told the publication.
“You know, management has made it clear that from next season they want to bring in the best players and the best coach so it would not be Tau only, as there are other big name players they are looking at.
“Chiefs are inquiring to fill up all the positions from goalkeeper, to defenders, midfielders and strikers. But for now, the one I can tell you that we know is on the list is Percy Tau.”
