Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos believes his side can beat any team in Africa.

This comes after his team’s thrilling 3-3 Fifa Series friendly draw against Algeria on Tuesday.

Bafana have been on a high since their third-place finish at the Africa Cup of Nations early this year. Since losing to Mali in the Afcon opener, South Africa has not lost a match inside 120 minutes.

After the Algeria match, Broos believed Bafana no longer had fear of any team in Africa.

“What a game. It was a fantastic game from both teams but the performance of South Africa was really good.

“We played against a strong team and I don’t think there was much difference in quality. That means we have made a lot of progress over the past months,” he said as per TimesLive.

Broos have put Bafana back into the top 10 in Africa

“We showed it at Afcon and we did it again against Algeria and we don’t have to be afraid of any team in Africa any more.”

“What we saw at Afcon, we saw it again against Algeria and that means we have made a lot of progress.”

Bafana under Broos have been impressive and are now amongst the top 10 best teams in Africa.

Their biggest task now is to qualify for the 2026 World Cup. They play Nigeria and Zimbabwe in June knowing six points could put them top of the group and give them huge confidence going into the next qualifiers.

Currently, Bafana occupies second place with four points from two games. A shock loss to Rwanda has made things rather difficult for Broos’ troops.

Bafana are slowly becoming one of the top teams in Africa under Broos thanks to their fearless approach.
